Bathroom layout for use by people with disabilities
Before you start down the route of having a new bathroom designed and installed try to get advice and an assessment. Experienced therapists know about specialist bathroom products and will help you make sure the product is right for you. You may be able to get an assessment and advice from your local social services.
Price is important and you may be able to purchase equipment designed for use by disabled people without paying the VAT.
Choosing and buying specialist bathroom equipment
If you can (and it is difficult) you should choose and try out bathroom products before your final purchase.
If you can, you could try to view equipment at an exhibition. These are great opportunities to see what's available and meet competing suppliers. The main exhibition of equipment for people with disabilities is NAIDEX, held annually at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
